There are a number of rules and legal stipulations that govern the management of a firm’s workplace pension scheme.
Pension Reforms 2012
Big pension reforms are coming in from October 2012, which will mean that employers must automatically enrol eligible staff into a pension scheme.
Providing workplace pensions: an employer’s responsibilities
At the moment, employers are not obliged to provide employees with a pension scheme, although many are required, according to the size of the workforce, to give workers access to a scheme that is run by a pensions provider.
